Are you trying to find a good crew-cab pickup that’s more powerful than a half-ton truck but less expensive than a 2500 pickup? The Nissan Titan XD might be right up your alley, as it seamlessly combines great performance with a really accessible price. Let’s see if this new model can provide you with some great results or it’s just another pickup that doesn’t stand out with anything!

Who is this car for?

This Nissan model isn’t exactly for those that want a heavy duty vehicle. Instead, it’s more of a middle ground model. Basically, it’s a model suitable for those that want a good range of power without having to spend a whole lot of money. It hits the spot right on the nail.

Design and size

The car has a new boxed ladder frame which was modified as well as stretched in order to bring you a wheelbase of around 151.6. This comes in handy because it helps you add even a 6.5-foot bet if you need one. This alone makes the Nissan Titan XD more versatile and powerful.

They did a very good job in adding a newer model of the V8 5.6-liter engine from Nissan. It has around 390HP and 401 lbft in torque. This makes the engine quite powerful and it does help the car deliver a towing capacity of 12314 pounds. This is similar to the power of many 2500 series diesels.
Styles and options

It comes down to you to see if you want a rear or four-wheel drive model. This pickup does a very good job at seating up to 6 people, which is more than ok for this type of model. You can also choose between 5 different trim levels like the SL, S, Pro-4X, SV and the Platinum Reserve.

The S delivers 17-inch wheels, sliding rear windows, remote keyless entry, manual side mirrors and a lockable damped tailgate, as well as good USB connectivity, yet you will need the S convenience package to get some stuff like an overhead console in the front or a spray-in bedliner. The SV will add in the overhead console as a standard purchase. When you move to the Pro-4X you will have 18-inch wheels that feature tires for all terrains. You also get LED headlights and voice controls. SL trim comes from 20-inch alloy wheels and a chrome trim for the exterior. You also get leather upholstery. Lastly, the Platinum Reserve includes all previous options and it also adds a great new set of interior finishes and it even features things like a DVD entertainment system on the back, wireless headphones and mounted displays.

Based on the Edmunds track testing, this vehicle managed to deliver 0 to 60 in around 9.5 seconds. It’s the towing power that makes the Nissan Titan XD a delight to use though. If you have a gasoline powered Titan you can carry up to 2594 pounds, which is a lot for sure. Fuel economy is a great point if you opt for the diesel model. Depending on where you choose to use it, you can average between 13.8mpg -20.8mpg. Busy traffic in the city might bring you the former though.

Is it safe?

In case you have a problem with the vehicle, you can check out the Titan Orland Park Illinois. But you do have to wonder before you purchase, is it safe? This model has some interesting features like airbags in the front and on the side curtains, antilock disk brakes, traction and stability control as well as seatbelts that have force-limited pre-tensioners. You also have a rearview camera depending on the model you choose and the more expensive Titans actually come with the subscription service named NissanConnect that helps with perks like stolen vehicle assistance, crash notification and roadside assistance.

Is it worth it?

The Nissan Titan XD does a very good job at delivering great value for a great price. You have multiple models to choose from here based on your budget, but all of these come with a capable engine and plenty of great features. If you want a very good pickup that’s durable and reliable, we recommend you to give the Nissan Titan XD a shot. You will be more than impressed with their quality and versatility!
