All 2024 Nissan Altima trims run on the same efficient 2.5L inline-4 engine except for one. The odd trim out, in this case, is the SR VC-Turbo®, which features a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine. And while the latter does push 248 hp when you use premium fuel (236 hp with regular), you should expect a corresponding (though slight) decrease in the Nissan Altima fuel economy as a result of this relatively increased performance. 2024 Nissan Altima Fuel Economy

Here are the Nissan Altima mpg figures by engine and drivetrain. As you’ll note, front-wheel drive variants are the most efficient and should be capable of traveling up to 27 city miles or 39 highway miles with a single gallon of fuel. On the other hand, you can opt for increased horsepower and torque with the Nissan Altima SR-VC Turbo®, though at the cost of increased fuel consumption.

However, this only means that instead of getting 39 miles per gallon on the highway, you’ll get 34 miles, which, in the grand scheme of things, is still quite excellent!
